Early apparatuses to produce X-rays and neutrons.

These are early apparatuses to produce X-rays and neutrons. At the left is a Crookes tube with concave cathode, the early way to produce X-rays. There are two tubes, which consist of glass spheres with metal plates on the inside. At the right is James Chadwick’s Neutron Chamber device. It is a cylindrical chamber that contained a radioactive source that released neutrons.
